Hello, my name is Ryan Angott, I am the Director of Sales & Marketing for our company. Since this is my first blog in my life I feel it is necessary to introduce myself to help give you a better understanding of who I am and my perspective on wedding planning.
I have been planning events my whole life, starting off as social chair in my fraternity (Sigma Phi Epsilon) to pretty much everything else that has come up since then (including a massive 30th birthday party at JD’s Piano Bar in Pontiac – remember that place?). Usually these events are simple themed parties where all you needed was a plethora of booze, great music, a beer pong table, and of course a packed venue with an attractive crowd.
The times have changed a bit as I am now finding myself planning the biggest event of them all – my wedding! September of last year, I got engaged to my amazing fiancé in Monte Carlo (more to come on that). Since then, I have taken over as part time wedding planner in addition to my full time job.
As the guy, wedding planning has been pretty easy for the most part thus far. I find myself going back to applying my old college party principals – securing a great DJ, picking a totally unique venue, and of course getting the best top shelf open bar. But all in all planning a wedding is nothing like planning a frat party. Check out Part 2 to hear about some of the tough decisions I’ve made and why.
